Before every session, I always like to take the time to meet with clients so we can custom design their session. I truly believe with a little extra time and effort a fun session experience and unique portraits can be created for each client.
When I first met with this beautiful family I was excited about getting to know them as a family of three before little baby Levi arrived. While we were waiting for Levi to arrive we decided to plan a maternity session focused mostly around Lily. We had such a great afternoon talking about Cinderella, Snow white and My Little Pony.
I knew it was essential to earn Lily’s trust during this first session. Not only to achieve beautiful images from the session at hand but also so that she would be comfortable posing with her brother during the newborn session to come.
I love having siblings involved in newborn sessions. It is important to remember that there is always a lot going on for big brothers and sisters when a new baby arrives. With all of the changes it can be an overwhelming experience for them. So how to you get that relaxed sibling portrait that mom is dreaming of?
When it came time for Levi’s newborn session he was an absolute dream to work with and cute as a button. Lily arrived half way through the session with her dad. Mom was a little concerned how the experience would go, but I was not worried; I knew that Lily and I were friends by now. When she arrived, Lily and I picked up our conversation were we left off. You will be amazed how much happens in My Little Pony land in just a few weeks. With Lily’s trust we successfully achieved the portraits mom and dad will cherish forever.
With a little bit of planning we created a beautiful body of work that works seamlessly together. I can’t wait to see this art work hanging in their home.
